Thanks to the input from fellow WUS members, I now know the calibre of my Cyma watch. My question today is about value: Cymas don't tend to fetch much in the market. I can live with that, I guess. But is it crazy to consider re-plating the case on this watch (in purely financial terms), or I am simply throwing good money after bad. To be honest, I didn't pay that much for it to begin with, but if I re-plate it, would I add any value to it? (It looks a bit more worn in real life, by the way)
If you are looking to sell it, I doubt refinishing would increase the value above what a re-finish would cost you. Most folks who buy vintage know what the costs of refurbishing are therefore they likely wouldn't pay a premium above and beyond what they could have it redone on their own.
If you are wanting to wear it, then go for it and get it refurbished and enjoy wearing it. Your Cyma is a nice vintage piece however it is not an investment nor a watch that would command a high resell price.

But no, it isn't worth paying to have the case replated.;-)
The joke smilie icon clearly showed that this was only a joke and not an offer to sell.
