    Darn. Think I underbid...

Not quite willing enough to go high enough on a 2lbs grab bag that eventually went for $67. I think I spotted a WWII-era 6B/159, a bit of a grail watch for me, but kept my bid low, being rather green at this stuff and seeing only a few grainy pics (I think below is the best) that don't show whether it is a water-spotted and rusted out shell-of-a-watch. I think I mussed up, though. Feel free to tell me it is absolutely an XXX-produced 6B/159 (that escaped clear re-purposing in the early 50's) to me feel bad...

I think we've all done that now and then. Look on the bright side - those grapes were sour anyway.

I think if you had won you would have been dissapointed, I can see no watch which resembles
    6b/159

Here is my Hs8 fleet airarm equivalent to compare and put your mind at rest...

Huh. I didn't realize that these WWII-era watches of similar (same?) style, made by Omega, Longines, etc., were names variably 6B/159s if RAF and HS8 if Fleet Air Arm, etc. I suppose the watch in this lot could have been a later civilian-issued watch as well, which I would still like to own, but doesn't have the groovy blue hands.

Whatever they are called, I like 'em. The watch in the "grab bag" looks a heck of a lot like this cornucopia of 6B/159 (assuming the collector was correct):
