    Diver alarm watches

I am trying to identify vintage watches that were not only true divers but had the alarm complication (there are some on "diver style" watches, but I am looking for depth rated divers with alarms). There is of course the exquisite JLC Deep Sea, recently brought into public view by the chap who stumbled upon one at Goodwill. However, this is far outside of my budget (by a few tens of thousands of dollars). Any others you can think of?

    Thanks all.

As far as I know, the only other ones really up to it were the JLC Memovox Polaris and the Vulcain Cricket Nautical. There were several others that looked like it but never really made the water tightness grade (e.g. Jules Jurgensen Nautical - looks almost exactly like the Vulcain Nautical but with slimmer case; Tissot Sonorous T12, also has a rotating inner bezel but note quite watertight enough).

Thanks, Hartmut. Good to know. The field is rather slim for affordable watches in this category.

There is a Tissot Sonorous that looks like a diver watch. I don't know if it's depth rated or is what you're looking for.

Actually, I ended up buying a Citizen Alarm Date, which is not a true, depth-rated diver, but I realized after doing research that there are very few diver alarm watches in this category that are remotely affordable. Even if I had a vintage JLC Deep Sea, there is no way I'd take it near water. So, diver or pseudo diver, I would not wear it to be submerged. Anyway, I like the appearance of the Citizen Alarm Date, which is fairly large at 40mm w/out crown. It has a Cal 3102, a reliable and durable movement. Both crowns are signed and original. This model is also relatively uncommon. They don't come up on Ebay that often. This one (made in Feb 1968) will likely need a new crystal. Hopefully it is mechanically okay and just needs a thorough service. Photos are not great (seller's), but enough to get a flavor.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I will update with post service photos.

It all depends on how vintage you are looking for?

The 1993-1995 Casio DW-6300(first Frogman) and the Seiko Arnie (seiko H559)from the 1980's are considered vintage to me.

Hmmm...I would agree they are technically vintage. I prefer my vintage watches a decade or two older and was in the market for an all analog alarm, which I got with the Citizen. I'm not familiar with those models, but suspect they are combo analog/digital watches. I'll look them up. Thanks!

    Re: Diver alarm watches

I love the thought of having a diver with an alarm, but would you be able to hear the alarm under water ?
I wish i could think of something funny to put here.
