    Re: Don Draper: Mad Men

Funny you should post this. I was just thinking about the return of this show this spring, for its final episodes...

Given the symbolic role the moon landing played in the mid-season finale last year, and given the show's attention to detail as regards what is on everyone's wrists, and given Don's predilection for Omega (despite his forays into the Rolex Explorer and JLC)....

Don't you think we should be seeing at least someone wearing a Speedy in the final half-season!!??. Maybe not quite Don's style, but...a fanboy can dream, can't he?

Main Rotation: ROLEX SubC 116610 / OMEGA Speedmaster 3750.50 / OMEGA Aqua Terra 2503.33 / HAMILTON Field Khaki
Seiko: SRP775 Turtle Reissue / 6139-6002 "Pogue" (blue dial) / 6106 Sea Lion / Orange Monster
Others: OMEGA 1959 cal. 500 Seamaster / RAYMOND WEIL Othello / LONGINES Tank c. 1940s (currently on the wrist of my lady-friend)

I noticed the Omega as well on that episode and googled Don's watches. Apparently the producers got him the rectangular case JLC when he became partner as they said it was more fitting to his new position and income but John Hamm wasn't happy as he apparently saw Don Draper as "more of a round watch guy." The same site also went into some of the other character's watches such as Sterling's Tudor and Cosgrove's Hamilton Electric.

There is also one glaring error in thee first season, although I don't recall which episode. Don gives Betty a watch and there is a close-up shot where the second hand clearly jumps as if it were a quartz watch.

Nice, Mad Men is my favorite show by far and I love to see what the actors are wearing! I believe Peggy had a Hamilton electric? Maybe a Titan?

Ah but maybe it was a foudroyant?

Anyone checking out watches when there is the chance Christina Hendricks may be on screen needs to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror.

    Madness!
