    DOXA anti-magnetic circa 1961

Just picked this up for a song, there's something about the 3-6-9 dials that gets me everytime....and talk about vintage charm right?

Anyone knows if the hairspring is anything similar to the parachrome hairspring aka Rolex? I looked at the movement and it's got a blue glow to it.

Here we are. Not the easiest little thing to photograph... unfortunately I don't have my lighting setup with me today so it's less than ideal.

Given the non-shockproof movement, I seriously doubt that it is from 1961. What's the serial on the case back?

I think that some Nivarox hairsprings were blue in color.

Edit: After a bit more research, I think my first comment was incorrect, and I wonder if this isn't an ordinary blue steel hairspring. This would not be anti-magnetic, however, so it would suggest that the original alloy hairspring was replaced with a blue steel spring at some point.

Serial on caseback is 6126006. Assuming this is original to the watch it should be circa 1961?

I did find out a little more about the DOXA 103 movement..it looks like it did come with a Nivarox-1 blue hairspring?

The serial is indeed for 1961. What I'm not sure of, is if this movement belongs in this case, or has it been replaced with a non-shockproof one from a decade earlier.

Not sure if this is a help or a hindrance, but I have the same 103 in two of my Doxas.

Under the loupe, this 37mm example from 1959 does, indeed, have a blue Nivarox hairspring but not so easy to see in the image, thanks to my lack of photographic skills.

    Regards.
