Surprisingly enough there isn't a single thread or even a picture I could find here about the Contograf, so I thought it deserves it's own thread, hoping other owners will chime in over time ?
In 1950 Eberhard launched their exclusive (we'd now call it "inhouse") cal. 310/8, designed and manufactured by Dubois-Depraz, to be used in their Extra-Fort chronographs. That (outstandingly beautiful, I think) caliber was the basis for what seems to be the first "simple date" chronograph movement, the cal. 310/82, launched in 1958.
The 310/82 was first used in the Contodat chronograph models, then in what I consider one of the most attractive "Aviator" chronographs with a rotating 12h-bezel, the mid 1960s Contograf.
Cases were manufactured by Huguenin Freres; massive & lovely, but quite sanely sized at 39mm - and that date quick set button makes me miss that function on all my other date chronographs ;)
The 310/82 was used for the Doxa Sub T-Graph too btw, during a short period both companies were merged into CHP holding.
Enough blah; here are the pictures - and I hope more Contograf aficionados will chime in !
