Elgin "General Pershing" / "General Foch" Case Help Requested

Hello to All, this is my first post here, although I am a long-gone WIS and post on other watch forums. I inherited an Elgin "General Pershing" cased in a round case which my research now reveals was the "General Foch" commemorative model, i.e., gold-plated and round. The case has issues, but the watch after service timed out great and looks pristine. I am thinking about re-casing the watch in a sterling or nickel case, preferably the square case known as the General Kitchener model. Does anyone have any experience in such a modification and know of a source for a good case? Thanks for your help.

Literustyfan does these often. It is an ordinary 3/0 case that will fit no problem. Your only source besides NAWCC meets would be to find a donor on ebay.

What is wrong with your case, the Gold Filled ones are fairly uncommon - and worth saving if possible. Replateit.com?

The case is goldplate and I do not think that it is original. The crystal hides the edge of the dial so the stars and 5 minute markers are hidden. That's enough for me. My grandfather had this watch but I never remember him wearing it. He was a pocket watch kind of guy. Thanks. I am on the hunt on e-bay.

I saw Roamer on your post. I watched a Kung Fu movie last week (Donnie Yen's IP MAN) and there was a rooftop advertisement for ROAMER watches. The story setting was in China during the Japanese occupation.
