Elgin, Illinois and a Hamilton? Lend me your knowledge please!

My old man has had these for long while (they were my great, great, great grandfathers) and just had the 2 pocket watches gone through professionally. They keep excellent time as does the Hamilton. I tried looking the serial numbers up and came up with the Elgin being a 1917 and the Illinois being a 1923. My great X3 grandfather worked at Illinois at the time and supposedly made this watch. Really cool. Here's some pictures for you all, any info your experienced minds can provide will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Illinois

    Elgin

    Hamilton

What a great piece of sentimental history you get to hold in your hand.
The Hamilton is a Dunham with a 747 movement. They were made from 1948 to 1951.

Beautiful watches G2SKIER! You are a lucky man. I love old American watches, I myself have an 1890 solid gold Waltham pocket watch.

    Nice watches, thanks for sharing!

Otherwise, I don’t know what additional information you are exactly looking for ('any info your experienced minds can provide will be greatly appreciated!').

The first two watches are identified. I assume you got your info from pocketwatchdatabase, which gives you everything down to the last screw. If not, here are the links:

    Illionis:
    https://pocketwatchdatabase.com/sear...linois/4206864

    Elgin:
    https://pocketwatchdatabase.com/sear...elgin/20259867

On the Hamilton wrist watch, CC Texas provided some good info: The watch has a simple and easy to open two piece case (if you know what to do, otherwise damage can be done even with this easy task). You could check the number and go to the same database for more (works also for wrist watches).

I strongly assume it has a round cal. 747 inside, 17 jewels, but without the number I can only guess.

Now, reading over my long elaborate, I guess that was the additional info you wanted to have.

Yes I have entered them all in the database and was able to get the Hamilton apart and back together to take pictures with no issues!
