[ELGIN] Pocket Watch Serial Numbers: . Date, Grade, Jewels
It looks like a Model 6, 16s. First serial number 6,458,001 (August 1895), Grade 151, according to The Complete Guide to American Pocket Watches (#6) by Cooksey Shugart and Tom Engle (p.164)
How did you get grade 151, I got 220 and year 1903..
The book I have shows illustrations of different movements. The illustration that most closely matched your movement was labeled "Grade 151". However, if the serial number records show a different grade, then the record is what I would go with. Hope this helps you find what you need!
It is a grade 220 from 1903. Total production 36000 between 1899 and 1903.
Both grades 220 and 151 are of model 6.
