Elgin pocket watch - case gold content question

Guys, I got this watch in a lot. It's missing its hands, etc. The movement was made in 1919 and is 7 jewels, Grade 6, according to the fantastic online database. However, I do not see any markings indicating gold content. All I see is "Fortune", a leaf-like logo and a serial number on the inside of caseback. Any idea how I might determine gold content?

    Thanks

There is no gold except a thin plating. Sorry!

Most of these older watches are not actually plated. They are rolled and thus the gold is much thicker than current plated gold watches. But recovery of the gold is not an economical option so they have no real melt value. IMHO this is good as too many watches are lost to melt...

You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!
