    Elgin Sidewinder Pocket Watch

Ok so I finally got this pocket watch open! Can anyone tell me anything about it? The serial number on the movements is 21187507, 15 jewels. On the inside of the cover it says Philadelphia watch case Co. serial # on there is 347368 it also is stamped silverode. This pocket watch only has an hour hand.....or is it just missing the minute hand?

I am sure it had both an hour and a minute hand. There are websites that may be able to date via the serial number... I think we reference them in the Links and Articles subforum.

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

Ironically (or marketingly, as it were), Silverode contains no actual silver; it was widely used for "work" watches due to its durability.
