    Re: Eloga 17 jewel “Zielinski”

My guess is that it is a private label for a jeweller, and not an expensive one judging by the print quality. The case was made in Hong Kong and from the style would seem to be a very early example from a HK manufacturer. The movement has what looks like a US import code 'GZG' but I've no idea what that means, and the movement lacks the usual 'unadjusted' inscription.

Where are you located and where did you purchase the watch?

......and with what looks like an unexceptional but decent-enough AS 1194 inside. However, it does seem that "Unadjusted" appears next to the ratchet wheel.

To conclude, if @Chascomm is correct about this being a jeweller's private-label watch, then by the simple expedient of using Google you'll find a Zielinski Jewelry & Watch Co based in New Jersey, USA. By the same means, you'll also find multiple entries for the long-established Eloga Watch Co who may well have supplied the movement (or, indeed, the complete watch) to such a jewellery business.

    Regards.

Im in San Diego California... bought on line from an auction retailer who seem to have good will towards those of us interested in used vintage watches. =) ... it also was one of a three peice bundle , an Elgin, and a Bell-Air... all 17 jewel winders. all needing soem bit of TLC

I forgot to say; I'd estimate the date of manufacture as early 1960s.

(BTW, Balaton; good catch with the 'unadjusted')
