    Enicar

    Hi -

Snagged these over the last several days. Weren't cheap, but they've been on my short list for quite a while...

The photos are from the sellers, I'll post more when I get them...

That's an Enicar 600 Sherpa OPS, all the way from Australia. Military finish. Automatic.

This is a tad more traditional:

which is an Enicar 300 Sherpa diver. Hand-wound, but that's okay...

    Here's the movement...

I'm really looking forward to these two...

Well, enough on watches. I'm back off to work...

Awesome! Really clean by the look. Well bought.

BTW, why did Enicar take to the practice of putting 'star jewels' on face and movement instead of the actual jewel count?

Nice! What's the movement? Cal. 1141 or 1161 (or something of those series)?

    Re: Enicar

    Hi -

Actually, I've had a thing for Enicars for a while: I've got one of their dress watches which impressed the hell out of me when I opened it up. Well thought through case design (bayonet mount), extremely well built, and of course the WUS meeting didn't hurt to get me motivated... That dress Enicar is one of the best watches, horologically, that I own.

The frustrating part is that I haven't actually gotten them in the mail. One is coming from Australia - insured - but it is somewhere with customs, and the other one I acquired yesterday because it looks so damn clean. That one is coming in from Hungary, so I'm slightly nervous...but the seller looks clean and proper, and the price was right.

Still looking for a really good Enicar chrono, now. I really wanted to get a pre-pro Speedy, but the two I've found are going for way more than a month's salary, and my bonus wasn't *that* big. That one will remain a grail...

    Hi -

I have absolutely no idea. Haven't had time to research them much, will do so...

    Hi -

Will have to wait until it comes in to find out. It'd be interesting to see if it is a 1141, which has the date-change wheel on a jewel post. Don't think I'll disassemble to see, but once it is here - the seller just said it will go out on Tuesday - I'll know more...

    Re: Enicar

The Enicar Sherpa models are generally high priced from what I have seen. However, the dress watches tend to be bargins in a relative sense. I have been looking for Sherpa model, just haven't found one I can afford.

I recently picked up this circa 40's chrono that is going to be a project but well worth fixing. The dial and case are in excellent condition and it runs. The chrono functions are not working, but fixable. I believe it has a Venus 175 movement, although I have not had the time to crack the case.

I also have a very nice 50's era Enicar Ultrasonic dress watch. Will post a picture when I can find it in my computer!

Hi pals! Nice to hear you like these Enicar
and congratulations to JohnF nice watches!!

I have 2 of them, a Star Jewel, and this one a Sherpa Superdive. I bought it with my watchmaker for few bucks!! I think it´s beautiful, because it is large, with black dial and inner bezel and the days in red . But the features I like more are the coarse or rough markers and the Oyster engraved on the back!!!

What do you think about it?

    Saluds from Mexico

PS I am also looking for a Enicar chrono with Valjoux 72!!
