    Enicar question

Hey. I'll be posting this question on an Enicar (crazy, obsessed) super fan site as well, but thought I'd start here. Anyone have any idea how common was this particular model? I see plenty with manual movements, very few with automatic movements. In the last few years, I've actually only seen mine and maybe one or two others. Mine dates to January 1956. Another I saw recently on eBay was marked Sherpa on the dial...a little suspiciously crisp for me to bid on.

    Any thoughts?

Nice watch. These turtle lug automatic models are not uncommon, there are just a number of variants (Healthways, SeaPearl, etc.).

The model itself isn't uncommon, but I'm interested specifically in the ones with automatic movements. Virtually every one shown on that site are manual. By the way, I've looked at that site many times, drooling over some of the watches.

I see a mix of manual and automatic models on that site, e.g. the one on the left is quite similar to yours. I think if you look through that article carefully, you will see a number of automatic examples. Maybe not as common as the manual-winders, but not rare.

I am usually so distracted by the pictures...I miss the text. I'll take another look. Thanks!

Is this the one form eBay? If so, it looks legit to me. The gilt lettering often holds up pretty well.

That one is absolutely legit. I know the seller and he always has excellent Enicars (I got mine from him, as a matter of fact). Anybody interested in Enicars should feel safe buying from Craig.
