    Exquisit - Pallas Deutsche Uhrencooperation

    Bin fuer jeden Hinweis dankbar.

here the same question in English - not sure what the preferrred language of this forum is:
I went through my old watches and found one that was given to me when I was around 15 years old. Brand: Exquisit - Chronometer.
Does anyone know how to determine the actual age of the watch? The only thing I could find out so far is that the brand belonged to Hugo Weinmann - Pallas Deutsche Uhrencooperation, Pforzheim. The watch was second-hand when I got it and I guess it's from before 1950.
    I appreciate any help.

Hi there and welcome. Its an English speaking forum.

This article by Mike Stuffler gives a history of Stowa and mentions the Pallas cooperative.

but for more information pictures will be needed - ideally of the movement as well as the outside of the watch.

    Hi Hans!

Some pics of watch and movement would help.
Hugo Weinmann came to Pallas not before 1970, when Pallas was founded.

Im Uhrforum war kürzlich eine Exquisit aus den 1950ern

    Thanks for the quick response.
I have taken pictures from front and back. Can't take one from the movement as I don't have a key to open it - will get this later.

    Here are the images:

    Hi Hans!

Hard to say anything without having seen the movement(manual winded?). From the case- and dial-design, the watch is from the 1950s IMHO, though the hands could be older from the style. Weinmann used PUW and ETA movements, so it could be an ETA 1093 inside, AFAIK the first ETA with date. More probable is that the watch contains a PUW 63, the date-version of the PUW 60/61 with a German chronometer certification. This would date the watch to 1958.
The manufacturer of the case is Richard Pfisterer in Pforzheim, Germany.

Not that likely - the watch says "Automatic" on the caseback.

Ok, got a picture of the movement - could not find any markings on it - just a couple of numbers.

Hope this helps to identify the watch in more detail.

    Thanks for all the help.

You´re right, now I see it also.

The movement is an ETA 2472, after my literature it came after 1956. So your watch can´t be older. Left beside the balance wheel seems to be a registration number of the chronometer test - before the COSC was founded in 1973, every chronometer test institution had it´s own requirements and numbers. Below the balance wheel, you can see the caliber(2472) and the ETA-mark. IMHO the watch is from 1958 - 1960. A nice watch and surely not seen very often.
    Best regards, Mike
