Extreme make-overs - Post your encounters with the nearly-dead

This looked like a zombie apocalypse survivor at the early morning boot sale; mind you, most of the people at early morning boot-sales look like zombies. However, it prompted the theme for the thread because, having given it a shave and a haircut and some new duds, it now is fit to be seen at pre-death gatherings.......

PS. to be fair, it just needed cleaning up and a new mainspring.

$5 thrift store find. Cleaned up the case, new Crystal, Accutron band, battery and box.

Is that how the dial was under all the scratches or did you have it refurbed?

If you are referring to the 1929 Bulova - that is the original dial. It was quite dirty but cleaned-up well and polishing the numerals made a big difference.

Bought this Omega cheap, but couldn't find replacement hands, so used a small pair of blued pocketwatch ones that fit fine.
