    Favre Leuba

    Dear forum users,

I have recently found a Favre Leuba chronograph with Valjoux 72c. The watch looks very nice and the movement is genuine, working perfectly fine. I was trying to find some reference materials to see if that model as indeed produced by that maker and if it is original (dial, hands). Ha anybody seen similar models?

Thank you in advance and best regards,
    Slawek

    Re: Favre Leuba

I have found some other examples on the internet of Favre-Leuba triple data chronographs (valjoux 72c); most were also associated with Bovet Freres in some way. However, I don't like the looks of the "FAVRE LEUBA" logo on the watch you posted. Would you like to post more high resolution photos of the movement, case-back, etc? That would help us evaluate the watch.

Thank you Dan. The look of the logo is also my concern.
I should have additional photos tomorrow. Thanks again.

I am worried about the entire thing. Are you sure it has a Valjoux 72c inside? Movement shots would be helpful.

I agree, they will be necessary.

However, I think it does have some sort of Valjoux inside, as the pushers have an asymmetric arrangement - the start/stop pusher is closer to the crown than the reset pusher.

Absolutely, I would put money on a Valjoux 72c (or 73) being inside. That's not my main concern. The nature/branding of the movement ... that's a different question.

    Re: Favre Leuba

I managed to take some more pictures. What is interesting is that the back inside is branded Gallet. Has Favre Leuba ever cooperated with Gallet? Or is this simply an assembled watch?

    Re: Favre Leuba

Unbranded movement, Gallet case-back, "FAVRE LEUBA" printed unprofessionally on the dial ... the evidence points towards a frankenwatch.

    Re: Favre Leuba

Indeed - the watch consists of a Gallet case, an unsigned movement, and an iffy FL dial. Franken.
