Favre Leuba Bathy 50 circa 1966

Just put a fair downpayment on a FL Bathy 50, not cheap, I don't hink I'm getting a great deal, but that's not the point. I just want to make sure the watch is authentic. What should I look for, or where can I look to find some information on this watch. Also, should I finish the deal at the local watch repair shop so I can have the timing checked, and can they test it for water resistance? It is not crucial, but I would like to know. As for the timing, essentially I only ask that it keep good time for a day as I will not be wearing it day in/day out. What are the parameters that I should expect to hear? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you

I find it hard to believe anyone expecting to make decent money from their criminal endeavors would copy Bathy watches. But I have been surprised many a time.

One common characteristic of fakes is a lack of quality. Look close and think about the quality of what you see. Use a loupe. Compare with known good, if possible.

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

Do you have any photos of the watch? Should´t be that hard to find out if it is a replica or not.
