    First Longines Watch! Solid 14k!!

Hey guys visited another coin store and found this! At first I thought no way at that price maybe its gold filled? This watch was priced at a measly $50 and I knew I had to take a second look at it before I left. The lady opened the case for me so I could look at the insides of the watch. Took a quick glance at the inside of the back of the watch and immediately said I'll take it. Weirdly enough I think it was priced at $50 because there are absolutely no markings on the outside on the case... They had another 14k watch, forget the brand, it was smaller and they wanted like $400. So this is crazy I found this watch! The watch runs a little bit but stops after a minute or so and the crystal is scratched up but I can find another! Will get it fixed up later on and post more pictures! Anyways here we go! Think I should keep the speidel band or would black leather look better? Posted this in public forums, but posted it here too hopefully you guys will like it!

My price guide has that movement being made in 1935, but I say 1940s.. long skinny hands. The price guide has lots of wrong info.

Thanks guys! Taking it in tomorrow to see if it will start working again! What should be my limit as to price for a replacement crystal or even just to get it to start working? Never had a watch serviced... Input is appreciated!

Are you sure? Wouldn't the dial be in much better shape?

That is the common misperception. There were many older redials back in the day as well.

This is one of mine with an original dial from the 40s. Sorry its not a zoomed in shot but there is a swiss marking and the font is different from yours.

This one is a redial i used to own also from the 40s. Notice the font is a little more similar to yours compared to the original without the swiss marking at the bottom of the dial.

Also the Longines word on the dial on yours look slightly misaligned from what i gather from the pic.
I think if you intend to continue wearing it, worth getting a better redial done imo. Considering you only paid 50bucks its worth it :)

    Hope it helps.
