Got this Timex for 8.00 GPB. It looks like it never ever has been worn
I wish we had fleamarkets here!
Excellent find. And its British made.

Please don't PM me to ask for a valuation - I won't attempt one.
yep. one of my nicest dressers was a British Timex electric. Itwss before they had 'Dynabeat' on the dial and it was a beauty. My wife use to wear oit all the time and then we sold a house and one of the lookers stole it along with a Cartier tank. Miss that one. The battery was huge and the crude movemt clunked along nicely at +30sec pr day.

Dundee I guess. Must have been a watch mecca in the 70ties. In 1993 when they closed down there was a small grupo of employees left (about 70). I read there have been 5000 employees in the 70ties.
The factory's equipment has been sold to businesses throughout Europe. A shame.
From a witness of better times:Almost everyone in Dundee knew someone who worked in Timex. I had relatives and neighbours who were there for years. A quirky little memento that was passed onto me back then was a flexidisc record featuring the Timex advertising jingle from the 70's. It was based on a 1960 hit single by Jimmy Jones called "Good Timin'", and basically all they did was replace the word timin' with Timex. The record was dished out free to employees. I had a rake for it recently but couldn't find it so I've included a snippet of the original on the video instead.
The Milton of Craigie factory no longer exists as it was knocked down and is now an ASDA. Not sure if they have a shelf with Timex watches on sale though!
Timex's time halted in Dundee in 1993.
I recently found a similar Timex at a local thrift-shop. It say's Great Britain inside the case-back. Paid $5 for it. So far, it's keeping time.
think i need to start to go to fleemarkets, just never know where they are lol
