Found watch in Attic - Baume & Mercier 1940's ?

Hi there - I found an old watch in the attic at home and am unable to identify it on the internet using google etc. It is stainless steel - Baume & Mercier -Geneve. Back is plain with just - Stainless Steel , Waterproof and Swiss etched on it. It looks a bit battered but I wound it up and it has run perfectly for 48 hours.

My Mother thinks it may have been my grandfathers watch - but he died in 1948!

I'd appreciate it if anyone has any information on the model - picture of it appended.

    Thanks.

Moved to Vintage. My guess: Typical 60ties design.

Looks more like mid fifties, winding it was not a good idea, have it serviced.

Not only serviced, but restored. Should be easy.
    Nice watch!

Wow, great find! Quick, check your garage - there may be a heretofore unnoticed Mercedes 300SL in there! :D
I hope I look as good as my Hamilton when I'm seventy. I guess time will tell.

Thanks a lot for your comments - if it is 50's or 60's it cannot be my grandfathers and god knows where it came from. It would have been great if I could trace it to GF as he died long before I was born and he lived a great life including France and Palestine in WW1.
