Free eBay advertising - Just do what this seller does

I'm just guessing that he averages about 300 visits per listing and has 130 listings with 10 photos each. So, just ball park about 400,000 visits. How much would that cost on one of the busiest sites in the world?

Does anyone else have a problem with this?

    Jerry?

Apparently ebay doesn't have a problem with it or they'd stop it...

Seller has been around a long time and has 100% pos feedback...

Strangely, it's acceptable to include a phone number in a listing as long as it's justified by the need to contact the seller for support, follow-up, questions, etc. I say "strangely", because obviously eBay frowns on sharing of contact information in private messages, since it could be used to complete a sale outside of eBay.

    Interesting.

Down under eBay removes phone numbers from listings. Also from PM's until the item is sold. You can not arrange an inspection.

Presumably, it's to stop sales outside eBay.

Maybe that's why the number is in all the photos.

Re: Free eBay advertising - Just do what this seller does

Actually, eBay says the seller violated the rules and said eBay contacted the seller and gave them x amount of time to correct their listings. That time has long passed. I know of three times account holders made inquiries. Nothing happened. Years ago, if I sneezed, eBay would remove a listing and then make me prove something to get the listing put back up. That's why I posted this thread. Listen, I wish everyone well, including this guy. I also wish eBay would give me free advertising and active content in listings.

Before 2008-09, we use to see so many Hamilton 980, 982, 987x models for sale. Now, they appear fairly rare. I know people who bought them up, removed the movements and sold the cases to smelters. Ugh. What a waste. I wonder how people can sell 1930 Hamilton watches for such low prices. Parts have become scarce, especially jewels. Dial restoration costs around $100. New bands cost something. Crystals - glass ones - have become scarce and cost about $25. Add it up. It doesn't make sense.

Regarding this seller, the rules evidently don't apply. Seems the rules don't apply equally in a lot of the world today.

eBay said a seller can not put his or her phone number on photos.

Does complaining actually make a difference any more?
