Is this french made Zenith movement?

I have recently caught a vintage zenith (3rd one now...) from the bay.

I haven't thought much of it at the first, but after I won it, I found something curious.

    Cal. 2532

Usual "Swiss Made" under Zenith is missing and the serial number is really low for this movement. Could this be an example of french made Zenith that I heard about in passing?

I would say almost certainly so. Zenith in Besancon only closed down in 1975 so a Cal. 2532 is well in line within the production years. The maximum serial number for Besancon fell short of the million mark so I would think that this is where your watch was assembled.

Thank you Hartmut! It gives a little more characteristic to the rather bland watch!

That's a nice looking gasket! I like that green material.
