Functionality question regarding an AS 1906 auto

So I picked up a Wakman/Tressa Laser Beam for a decent deal.

It arrived today and I looked inside to find it has an AS 1906 automatic movement (bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: AS 1906)
The watch has a day/date feature, but the problem seems to be that for the life of me, I can't figure out how to set the day or date.
The day & date changes when you wind it for a full 24 hour rotation, but can't seem to catch a middle setting to move either day or date wheel.
Doesn't seem to have a quickset feature where pulling the crown or pushing the crown advances day or date either.

Does anyone have any experience with this movement and know what I need to do to get watch set correctly?

Unfortunately I don't have my camera with me, so I've attached a blurry pic from seller and another pic from a similar model so you have an idea of what it looks like.

I've got more Converse sneakers than watches, but it is a close race.

Dr. Ranfft says rotating between 8pm and 12pm (until the correct date appears)... kind of the default for many movements of this era.

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

On these, you have to set the day the hard way; going back and forth between 8 and 12 will advance the date without advancing the day (you should see the day go back and forth).

    Thank you gentleman.
    That did the trick.
Bit of a pain, but got it set correctly now.
