    G-Ps Gyromatic....."just" a automatic..?Or?

    Hi all

I was looking at a watch dealers page, when I did see a G-P gold, with Gyromatic.

What is/was Gyromatic? G-Pway of a automatic watch? Same as Zenith got bumper wind?

    Thanks for looking

    Cheers

As far as I can tell, your analysis is correct.
"Forever is composed of nows." - Emily Dickinson

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

The term "Gyromatic" was used by Girard Perregaux a series of full-rotor based automatic movements (31, 32). This series is based on the manual wind calibre AS 1687/1688 with the automatic mechanism having been a joint development of Doxa, Favre-Leuba, Eberhard, Zodiac, and Girard-Perregaux.

The term "Gyromatic" was also used for an earlier series of full rotor automatic movements (19, 21, 22) based on Peseux calibers (330/335).

Hello and thanks for replying me, with good information

But, one more thing....How is it to find parts for the movement today? Having it in for service?

The GP caliber based on the AS 1361 is the GP caliber 08. I'm not sure what you mean by "400k". Parts for the AS 1361 movement would not be a problem.

I really don't know what you are talking about with GP "450-306". There are GP calibers 45 (and 47) which are based on the ETA 1256 caliber. If this is what you are talking about then parts for that movement (ETA 1256) would not be a problem.

I think you should post some pictures of the movements that you are talking about and get a clearer understanding of exactly what you are considering purchasing.

    Hello JimH

I will go and take some photos today or tomorrow, and then post them.

I have not seen the movement, only saying what the dealer told me regarding the movement.

    But, thanks for good help.

    Cheers
