    Gallet Guest Curator - Wristwatches

    I am happy and proud to announce I will return to the National Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia Pennsylvania this year as a 'Gallet Guest Curator - Wristwatches'

    Reporting to the Museum director Noel Poirier and working under the head curator Carter Harris.
    Last year I was tasked with cataloging the wristwatch collection, this years task will be to install a general exhibit of the Museum’s wristwatch collection.
    That and general duties of helping in the library.
    I will be there for 3 months (Sept, October and November).

    Another exciting task that I hope I can complete to the satisfaction of the Museum

    Fun; I'd be curious if they have any information on Gallet's relationship with Eatons.

    Thanks to all
    I learnt a lot my last year there.
    That knowledge has been complimented by many comments on 'this' forum. So I truly hope I can do a better job this time.
    I will follow up on all the points raised on WUS (like JLC - Queens watch)

    @Absomrob
    Can you give me more details of what you are seeking. I know of 'Eatons' - especially to Rolex

    I intend to make a 'chronograph' feature using among other Gallet watches. There is a great number of Gallet pieces on a display OUTSIDE the main museum. I intend if agreed to move some of the best into that permanent display.
    With pictures and photos.

    Of course every night I write an article on my latest finds.

    thanks again

    Gallet had an extensive production relationship with Eatons, starting with the Eaton's branded 16 and 18 size pocket watches (the highest quality Interocean caliber has been claimed by some to have been accepted on Canadian railroads). This relationship seems to have extended to Eaton's later house brands as well (notable the Superva and Solar lines). I've heard (forget where) that there was a family connection in Montreal.

    My own interest relates to the early models (some of which were sold as wristlets in the 20's) as the design and construction seems to be different then seen in contemporary Gallet branded movements.
