R0LEX Vintage Serviced Movement Stainless Steel Case | eBay

R0LEX 8 Days Vintage 1939 WWII Era Steel Watch Large | eBay

Both of these watches were easy to find on ebay.... just looked out for pocket watch conversions coming out of the Ukraine.....

Im no expert on Rolex movements.... so cant advise! That said, Im 99.3% sure the only parts on those 'wrist watches' that could be rolex is the movement.... everything else is modern... and not produced by rolex!

If you are considering buying these, personally, I think you are mad!

You may be fully aware of what you are looking at (pocket watch movement recased in BIG wristwatch cases, new dials, hands.... etc), In which case, I hope someone can confirm if the movement is original!

    Cheers,

    Marc

Sparcster is right, they don't look Rolex at all, also a big giveaway on the first one is it says Swiss when it should say "Swiss Made". The second one has Swiss Made in 2 locations on the movement, usually a sign someones tampered with it :S Usually markings are only put in 1 location and not 2 or more.

Concur with the above. The font used in "Swiss Made" on the lower watch didn't exist when that movement was built. Also, there is a mix of styles between fin-de-siècle-flowery on the balance cock, and Art Deco (~2 decades later) on the train bridge.

As for the upper watch, "twentyone" as one word is not something you see much (unless you are doing a literal translation from Russian or Ukranian... dvadtsatodin' or the like, as one word). Again here, the font looks anachronistic, and the engraving of "jewels" is a botch job, running into the countersink.

You don't need to get over it, you just need to refine it! :)

Just saw the watches, I must say they are complete junk. I can't believe the amount of folks bidding on them.
