Cannot load image in previous post so trying here. Of my 7 little Gruen gold hunter 0s cases movements are probably original and all different. This one looks good. Who made?

6 others, probably original, are Aeby-Madretsch, Sandoz, Meylan?, Aegler(Rolex), Elgin, Omega. All ~0 size.

Well, whoever made it, Gruen did a wonderful job on the finissage. It looks superficially like a slightly adapted Omega movement (escapement wheel split off to go under its own cock).....

Does look something like an early small Omega movement. 0 size, 13 ligne, I have in Gruen case. Could it be from Aegler who made w.w. movements for Rolex in Gruen shared building? Aegler 13L shown in Gruen Opera watch case. They made a variety for Gruen w.w. and neck hangers.

I must admit I have little experience with Aegler movements - although the second example can't really hide its parentage! The first, however, might be from one of several makers, and I have never seen an Aegler movement like it.....

Size: 848.5 KBI believe Aegler made the first 2 Verithin 17l size p.w. movements for Gruen. These were unsuccessful and now scarce. Notice how plate designs are similar to preceding. Some Aegler Wilsdorf/Rolex movements were decorated like the Gruen 13L above.

Addition: although Aegler made pendant and w.w.movements for Gruen it has been suggested never made p.w. sizes. Gruen based in the Aegler building at the time earliest Verithins made probably produced these of possibly Aegler design.

Longines made the 0 size 1905 Gruen movement. Longines did at least one of the Dietrich Gruen high grade p.w. as well. The w.w. is an old Longines 1913+ 12.68N. The Gruen is a pre w.w. version.
