    Guinness pocket watch

A friend of a friend has this Guinness pocket watch. Unfortunately I only have a picture of the front.
I guess it is from the 50's.
Could it be Ingersoll? I believe they are reasonably rare. When you Google it there are not many hits.
    Any help please.

That is great! One of the nicest "character" watches I have seen, if it is appropriate to characterize it as such. I too have often seen faces in the head of my beer!

What does the toucan do? Or is he in relief just as a design element?

That's a an Anglo-Celtic PY pocket-watch, produced from 1948 to 1980 for Smiths, Ingersoll, Services and maybe some other brands. I've seen the cartoon dials associated both with Smiths and Ingersoll (the joint owners of Anglo-Celtic). In its basic spec (essentially the same as the US-built Ingersoll Yankee from 1898) it is fairly common. Almost as common is the centre-second version. Cartoon dials are fairly abundant these days but most of them are re-dials. Yours is the real deal as it has the toucan on the pallet-lever pivot.

The toucan was used by Guinness in their adverts.

    I believe the toucan moves.
