    Hamilton Piping Rock

I posted this question in the Hamilton forum a while back but with no response, so Iím trying here. If anyone owns one of the original Piping Rock watches from the 1920s I would be interested to hear your opinions about the watch. I have never seen one in person, just in pictures.

Also if anyone has an opinion as to the prospects of finding one of these in good condition at this point, or in finding parts to have one properly restored, I would be interested in that as well. I would assume the movements in a lot of these watches were never properly maintained (?)

    Vintage Hamilton Watch Restoration

This guy's seen a few across his bench if I recall correctly. Pretty sure he has a presence on here, but I don't know his username offhand. Could try the contact link on the blog.

Thatís beautiful, thanks for sharing. What a wonderful restoration job you did! Do you still own the watch and wear it occasionally? I think it would work well even for formal occasions these days.

Thanks Jim. I do still own the watch and when it is worn it is usually a formal type of occasion.

It is a slim wearing watch, and the crystal generally protects the enamel bezel, but for everyday wear I would be mindful of chipping/cracking the enamel.

Thanks for the info, thatís what I would wear it for as well. Itís on my list longer-term, or before then if I happen to find one in good shape for the right price. In the meantime I make due with this handsome little guy, a Hamilton Trent:
