Hampden THE FOUR HUNDRED gold movement. Want photo

Hampden made a few 000 size 17j lady watches 1895+ with 14k gold plates. Same as this one which is also not common. Want good image of a real one to prove existence.

Surely the 50th Anniversity Gruen was not the only solid alloy gold movement watch? The Hampden special model 400 is a matter of written record and advertising for its existence. I expect there were Brit and Swiss w.w. and p.w. specials done with solid alloy gold plates? There were some very fine movement gold plate jobs. I am still not sure if this old carved and deep sharp engraving is solid or plated. Amazing plate job if not solid gold. I cleaned gold case and silver dial but not movement of 150+ years of tarnish and oxidation.

Imagine how long it took an engraver to do this at such a high level of finish... amazing.

It would cost a fortune to reproduce this today.
"Forever is composed of nows." - Emily Dickinson

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

My own photos of the Hampden 400 that was also made with 14k plates that I want photo of. Perhaps finest U.S. 000s in 1895.

THANKS for the 1908 400 model ad.. Noticed that THE 400 is same size with different plate arrangement than THE FOUR HUNDRED from 1895. artb
