Your best source for a valuation is Ebay auctions that closed with bids. Be sure to factor in the condition. When I look at your watch it appears to be late 1950's to mid 1960's. The dial was probably refinished at some point and it shows evidence of significant deterioration from moisture. The movement does not show a commensurate amount of corrosion except for the two set screws. The back strikes me as a cheap fake. Although I cannot see the side my guess is the crown is a repacement. All in all my impression is that the watch was pieced together possibly in one of the countries known for such watches.

John MS has it correct. This is what we like to call a "frankenwatch". It's put together from parts of different watches. My guess is that the dial and top part of the case came from a 1950's or '60's Geneve, or similar model. The case back is a genuine Omega product, but it is from the 1970's or '80's. I've seen this style of caseback before and it does have a proper Omega case reference number inside.

This looks like it could be a "Mumbai Special". Indian sellers are famous for this practice.

I'm quite surprised that this combination fits together at all,

And if you click the link, you'll see that the ST 196.0123 is a quartz watch, which yours clearly is not.

    Not good,

    ginal, you think? Thanks
I would suggest that you focus first on the reliability, reputation and honesty of the seller. Once you are comfortable with the seller then look at his watches. The seller of that Omega meets none of those criteria.
