    Help with Bulova identification

I have this very old watch that was my grandfather's. Can anyone tell me what model it Is? The stem comes right out so there are issues obviously. I'd like to see if it's repairable. Any advice?

Nice watch. The L2 on the caseback dates it to 1952. Possibly has the 17j 10CMC auto movement, but the experts (not me) on this forum would probably need you to post images with the back removed to tell you more.

    Regards.

The watch appears to be a Bulova "Clipper" model. If the stem pulls all the way out and that's all that's wrong with it, a good COA should fix all your problems.

Got the case back off with a removal tool. Was on there good. Here is a pic of the movement.

Looks very repairable to me. The green is corrosion due to the case being gold-filled, but that's not a cause for concern.

Would definitely advise against wearing/running it until it's had a service by a watchmaker. There's a lot of (hopefully) dust in there. If it's metal shavings, there might be some parts needed. Cost will run $100 to $150ish depending on where you are and the work it needs. Service is good for about 5 years. Can't wait to see the before/after pictures. It'll be a beauty!

There's a watchmaker search thread here:
