InterestingI'm curious what the people with knowledge about americam pocket watches will say. In my continental watches "used to look brain" I would suspect that he patend is for the winding system in 1887 with pin "pul" but I've no knowledge.
Funny is I've a ex-halfhunter were someone in former times close the eye irreversible. You seem to have an ex - hunter who someone turn to a halfhunter.

    Cheers Silke

Hmm ..its the swiss silvermark (grouse) therefore with matching numbers it is a swiss watch for the US market. In 1887 swiss patents don't excist. It must be an US one. They also patened there. But I'm quite sure that this watch is younger. As a swisswatch it looks like around 1910.
What is writen completely on the movement ? On the dial it is probably the name of the seller but a picture might help.

    Regards Silke

Hmmm ...definetly a case with a swiss hallmark and a movement with typical continental time set. Longlier is a place in Belgium and Edouard Gigot the owner ??? But why we found : .. Steller, Iron mountain Michgan USA writen on the movement. He should be the seller and jeweller. I've no idea about the story of this watch.

    Sorry Silke

Interesting , definetly this movement. Enrico any thoughts how this movement come into a swiss case ? It definetly looks orginal. Usually if you look on the import rates Switzerland imported cases from Amerika and France but hey usually don't import movements. The first ownwe seems to live in Belgium.
