    Help dating this CS?

    Hi.

    Just landed this Chronographe Suisse on eBay and wondered about what period it dates to.

    What I know so far;
    Landeron movement.
    37mm, stainless steel case.
    Seems like an original dial and hands.
    The serial number is 45525. Couldn't find anything about that online though.

    I appreciate your help guys. Thank you.

    Without shock proofing, I'd say early 1950s. The dial doesn't quite look right for the late 1940s. Since Chronographe Suisse were best known for offering affordable solid gold chronographs but this one is in a steel case, it may well have been frankenised.

    Landeron 51, I believe. bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: Landeron 51

    I think it will be hard to get a firm date on it, since this style was common for quite a long time throughout the 1950s and 1960s.

    If it's really all stainless, that would be somewhat unusual, since these are usually plated. Usually the back says "FOND ACIER INOXYDABLE", implying that the rest of the case is plated.
