Question help figuring out this Aristo pocket watch /chronograph

picked this one up on the Bay for pretty cheap with a old car clock included and got it running solidly but it kinda has me stumped. It appears to have a full chronograph movement,..but has no way to set the hands, I'm afraid of pulling any harder on the stem to see if it sets it all chronograph functions work. I've never seen a chronograph with a constant running second hand. i marked the staff behind the chrono center second hand and it rotates hourly so i guess it has a spot for a min hand, but i cant see any way you can fit an hour hand in there .Did they make stopwatches with a running second hands at any time? https://www.collectorsweekly.com/sto...h--chronograp?

The movement looks rather like an Unitas Cal. 45C (about 1/3 down the page here):

    Uhrwerkshersteller "U"

This was a full chronograph movement (i.e. with normal watch features). It looks as if this one has been "downgraded" to a stop watch by removing the hour and minute hands and therefore also removing the need for hands setting (so the crown can't be pulled out). Normally, one could then have dispensed with the permanent seconds hand too (as long as the relevant gear is still in the movement to drive the clutch wheel) but they seem to have wanted to retain it. Perhaps this was done for aesthetic reasons - the minute totaliser at 12:00 would otherwise have looked a little lonely.....

It seems to me that the only manual control you have is the button in the center of the crown. It should start and stop the watch and reset it as well.

Yes, but then that was usually the case with old single button pocket (and early wrist) chronographs.

A google search brought up a link to a similar model and poster stated it used a Unitas 45C movement

Supposed to be a full time and chrono model

Can search on the Unitas movement to compare and this might help in the search for parts if you want to restore it
