    Help identify my watch

    Hi everyone

Just want to say a big hello as I have just joined the forum.

I need your help to identify my watch. (I hope the pictures have attached)

It says on the watch face Avia 17 Jewels, Incabloc.

It looks like silver but I cannot see any hallmarks and has gems running all over the strap and around the face.

I would love to know what date this is from and any other info you can give me. Where is the best place in the UK to get a valuation or is that just wishful thinking

    Thanks everyone

    Re: Help identify my watch

    Hi and welcome.

Avia was and is a mass market brand which used movements form a variety of Swiss makers. It looks 1950s to me - but its hard to tell as that sort of style was made for quite a while. It is unlikely to be silver, and the embellishments are unlikely to be genuine gems. Ladies watches of this sort do not sell well at the moment - few collectors, and not appreciated by many women nowadays. You might find a rough value by looking on ebay - see:

Otherwise many jewellers - particularly those who deal in antique items - will give you a valuation if you call in in person.

You may get other opinions of course.

Please don't PM me to ask for a valuation - I won't attempt one.
