    Help Identify Vintage Patek Philippe

    Hi everyone -

My father passed away last year and left me a vintage Patek Philippe. I was hoping someone could help identify the model.

Without any pics of the movement or case back inside.....that will be a tough thing to do.

Sure looks like a re-dial at best.

Would help to see some pictures of the movement and the inner side of the case back.

Looks like a 1930s-1940s reference 425. White metal case, interesting. A short lookup of the reference shows only pieces made in yellow gold and platinum. I don't know if they were made in other metals.

One thing that I do find odd, is the position of the subdial in relation to the minute track. In the ref.425, the minute track was touching the outer edge of the seconds subdial, but then again, here, with this design of the markers, if it would, the effect would be odd all the same.

Nevertheless, the minute track and the font seem consistent with what is usually found on 425s.

It has na refinished dial. Sloppy 32nd mark. Would never have left the factory like that.

Worth shipping to the manufacture (if you want) for a proper restoration

Crown is not original. Color does not match the case and appears to be steel. Case platinum

You can tell the factory what to do. Restore dial and service. Leave case as is. Replace crystal etc.

I would work through a boutique if possible and left them ship it at your expense

Don't let any watchmaker or? offer you anything for it (if you decide to sell it) until you fully check it out and get a proper idea on value
