    HELP identifying this Timex

I just snagged this on eBay and I don't know exactly what it is. Unlike many others, there is no information at the bottom of the dial. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks for looking.

Serial number inside caseback would date it to 1960. Movement possibly an M31 or M107, both jewel-less, pin-lever escapements. Check out Dr Ranfft's Pink Pages which should help to identify it more fully.

    Regards.

Nice early self wind Timex from 1960. This was a bit before Timex began marking the bottom of the dial with movement numbers and date. As with yours date was stamped on the inside of caseback. Nice condition. Good pickup.

Seller used shill bidders to get the price up to $90 for this broken, disposable thing. Unbelievable.

How can you tell they're shill bidders?

When three bidders with no feedback run an auction up to 3x the item's value, it's pretty clear what's going on.

Thank you for taking it upon yourself to look into that. In a sense, I feel better knowing there are good, educated people here who are interested in the well-being of other members. I sincerely appreciate your research efforts.

While I agree the price is quite high for the "value" of the item and I find the practice to be in poor taste, it's worth saying that I set my max bid at a price I was okay with paying to get the watch.

I am stating this because I don't want this thread to get going in a negative direction.

If this watch had a name, you could probably only find it by searching old catalogs and advertising. My guess is that it was just called a "self-winding waterproof" model.
