    Help with Mido crown please

    Hi guys,

I currently have this Mido Ocean Star datoday that I'm trying to restore. The original crown with attached stem extension is missing so I don't know the precise dimensions I need. The case ref number is 8309 and the movement is an ETA 2836. The pendant tube is 3.55 mm and the diameter of the crown would have been between 4 and 4.20 mm. Is there someone with knowledge how to obtain an original crown of this particular model/case number? Or maybe has a similar watch and could provide me with the correct measurements I need?
I already checked Cousins and wrote some guys like Blake from Scotchwatch and Hans Eckert. I also checked Bestfit and they do list some Midos but my copy of Bestfit has ETA ending at 2512 so the models with 2836 aren't included.

    -Bump-

Nobody? No Mido gurus or collectors on WUS?

Sorry, I've got no real idea. I would fit a generic one for the moment and embark on a long and arduous hunt on fleabay.....

Thanks Hartmut but a generic one doesn't really fit. Generic waterproof crowns only fit a pendant tube up to 2.5 mm. Also the combination of male and female split stem is a patented Mido one.

You can only use original Mido crown. Ebay has just one seller for Mido crown. It is for 70's ETA movemet Mido, but does it fit to this watch... beats me. I guess you have to take a chance.

I've bought from that seller before, he's a good one. But like Hessu, I have no idea as to whether it would work or not....

Re: Help with Mido crown please

Thanks guys but I find 40 euros incl shipment a little steep for a gamble as it has a different case ref number. It's not my watch though so I'd have to ask the owner if he's willing to gamble :)
I find it strange that there are no charts for these case parts. That Ebay crown is for the 8479 and I have a 8309 here. You'd think you could look up some info somewhere. Especially since you have to use original parts. I know that Blake from Scotchwatch has quite some Mido crowns but only sorted on sizes, not case numbers. So if I could somehow link the case number with measurements I could order one.
