Help needed! Identifying 17J Swiss Movement

    Hi!

I need some help identifying this 17J swiss movement. My guess is unitas, but yet I havent found any movements on internet that would look the same.

Diameter is around 32-33mm, if I remember correctly.

I'd guess something in the FHF family, like the 28, but modified: bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: FHF 28

    Hi there,

the advanced search on top right of every archive page found a better match with few mouse clicks:

Oddly enough, I had tried that but hadn't selected the balance cock shape (that's always been sorta hit or miss for me), so it brought up a much wider range of AS movements. I had also figured that it was a 11 or 10.5''' movement to fit into a 32mm wide case, so I never even looked at the AS1604 (bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: AS 1604). Funny how they reversed the balance cock direction on the 13''' movement compared to the 11.5''' AS1194 that had been my first thought.

Awesome, just awesome. I'm guessing my movement is pretty close to 1604, even if it is not excatly the same.

    Hi Wex,

oops, I entered the wrong link. The AS 1604 is pretty near, but it is actually this one:
bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: AS 1188
1604 and 1188 look similar, but watch tbe base-plate design near the balance.
