Help needed for identifying age and more for vintage JLC

    Hello all,

I just got this nice Jaeger LeCoultre cal. 449/3 C br with serial number 491027 and back case number 497520. Size is almost 37mm (36,7mm to be exact).
I would like to know what is the age of the movement and if there is some kind of ref. number for the model or maybe the name and how rare or common it is.

    Thanks in advance

I would say it is from the 1950's.
Nice watch in a very good condition.

Quality houses have had sub second designs in their lines almost constantly since the 1940s. JLC is one such house. So it is hard to date from just general design. Someone with a set of catalogs might get clues from specifics on the watch.

Even winders have been available fairly consistently from many quality houses. But most were made prior to 1960.

There may be a JLC serial number database on the web but I don't have one bookmarked.

Very nice example. Even the movement shows care.

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

Gladly, but they charge 360 CHF for that
It is not a €10.000 watch that I am about to sell, so it can justify the price.
Is it really true that there is no movement serial number database for JLC, as we know it for e.g. Omega, IWC, etc.???
    Kind regards

Either a very old redial, or a result of dial-cleaning-gone-wrong. If not for that, it would be a really nice piece.

Question Re: Help needed for identifying age and more for vintage JLC

    Hi all,

I just acquired a vintage JLC Memovox Automatic. Original SS band. Serial number - 932376. Any idea of the year it was produced?
