Help! Think I bought a fake omega seamaster!

Please tell me what you think of this. I just spent around a grand on gold and this watch was in with it. From a jeweler that shut down. The gold and diamonds were all legit. This case is definetly soft enough to be gold, But I think I got took. No Omega on the movement. Please tell me it's only the movement changed and not a complete piece of @3$%. Got took on fake movado last week don't think I can start the new year with another mishap. Let me Know!

I'm not an expert but Omega tended to put their hallmarks on the inside of the back cover. They also used signed movements, so I would guess, that it's a complete fake. A period fake but a fake none the less. You might also post on the Omega forum there are some real experts there that seldom post here in the Vintage Forum

Sorry to say, it looks to me like a complete fake.

If the case is really 18K Omega, I think that the original movement got replaced in the past, with this cheap movement.
So maybe not a fake, but an Omega with a replced movmt.

Yep, I'm in total agreement. I'd have it checked to see if it's even solid gold. If so, you can at least get scrap value for it. Sorry.

Any pawn shop or jeweler that buys gold should be able to run a very quick reagent test on it that will tell you if the case is gold or not. I'm a bit skeptical about the case top being gold. It doesn't have the type of shape I associate with a gold case top. The case back is probably gold.

Sorry, but I have to agree. The movement looks to be a nasty, cheap one and my guess is that the whole watch is a fake. Are there any marks on the inside of the back cover?

Also, shouldn't the dial markers be applied? It looks like a bad refinish job on another - much cheaper - watch's dial.

You had some bad luck this time, I think.

I guess I knew it. Just didn't want first watch of the new year to be a bust, it's a bad omen. Going to scrap gold in morning and I'll have them check it. It looked so good on my wrist til I tore it down though! Maybe pieces like this is why the jeweler went out of business. Thank you everyone for looking. Going to look at 14k hamilton this weekend for possible purchase. Little expensive but, hey, can't lose them all right?

Re: the case, looks phony to me, markings should be on the inside of back cover.
