    Hi there,

there are many possible reasons. First look from the back side whether the
recess for the crown leaves space enough to push it in about a half
    millimeter.

If yes, and you can actually push in the craown, the mechanism is
    damaged.

If yes, and you can't push in the crown, either a wrong crown (too flat) or
a wrong tube (too long) is applied.

If not, either the recess is not deep enough, or a replacemet crown was
    mounted wrongly.

I've seen some watches with the case for the predecessor Tissot 784,
equipped with a 2481. And because a crown standing away from the case
would look strange, it was mounted narrow to the case, leaving no space
to push it further. No idea whether this is original, but there were too many
to believe that the movement was exchanged.

    Regards, Roland Ranfft

    thanks alot for the information!

i too find it strange as this watch was taken from new old stock , still has wax on the case and crown , box , swing tag , instruction booklet of 2481 ( which says to push in the crown to change the date ! )

the watch is running perfectly and date changes sharply at 12 midnight .. only problem seems to be the quickset feature.

when im free i think i will bring it down to swatch group service centre to take a look if this is how its meant to be or whether any parts have been played around with

this is the watch in question
