Help with this vintage Stowa watch please!

Can someone please give me any info about this watch? From what I understand my Grandpa bought it for my Grandma in Germany while he was stationed there. The front face says Stowa on the top and 17 Rubis on the bottom. The back says Lunette, Walz Gold Double, 20 Mikron, then it has a G, a little star with a little line under it, and a K, and then Boden Edelstahl and the very bottom line says 4566. I can upload pictures if needed. I cant find anything with the word Lunette or the G and K with the little symbol between them. Thanks in advance!

    OK
Nothing really on the back of significance
"Lunette" is the model name of the watch.
In French it means an astronomical telescope used for telling the EXACT time. They have named the watch because they are implying it tells the time like an astronomical telescope, or an accurate watch (just marketing)
The watch is gold plated to a thickness of 20 microns

The rest is case serial number

    hope that helps

    Really?

The correct meaning of "Lunette" on the case back means "Bezel" as in "Lunette plaque or 20 microns" meaning "20 microns gold plated bezel".

Are the stones in the bezel real diamonds?

Correct. "Lunette" is simple the German word for "bezel". For the sake of the original poster, the bezel is really the ring around the front crystal (or "glass") but in this case probably refers to the main part of the case. In ladies' watches such as this one, the back doesn't have a lid but is a kind of a box in which the movement sits and over which the front bit - the bezel - is slid. The front part of the case is gold plated, the back is stainless steel.

Stowa is a corruption of the founder's name - Walter Storz - and was located in Pforzheim (northern Black Forest, Germany). The "G_K" probably refers to the case maker (few watch makers make their own cases) who would then have been Gebrüder Kuttroff (Kuttroff brothers) who were - surprise, surprise! - also located in Pforzheim!
