    Help with a Vintage Wakmann

My friend was wondering if anyone could assist with identifying what the model reference or name is for this, and if anyone might be able to help put a year to it?

Essentially its a vintage Wakmann, has an original Breitling chronograph manual, the movement is marked 1872 so I believe it is a Lemania 1872. The dial and hands look identical to an early 1970's piece I had seen pics of online but that just leaves me guessing this was produced in the late 60's - early 70's.

    Any help is most appreciated.

I agree with your conclusions but have nothing additional to add. I doubt there was a model name.

same here - no Breitling connection whatsoever though, assume early/mid 70s production.

What concept are you attempting to express with this statement?

    Thanks for the help gents,....

As far as "Breitling manual", I was intending to convey that my friends piece includes a Breitling chronograph instruction manual which was said to have been with the piece since the piece was inherited many years ago - sorry about my poor wording. But, the manual was odd if for no other reason than there were no Breitling brandings anywhere on the case/ movement which I just sort of expected to see.
This does make me wonder though, as I've read Breitling had produced a number of Wakmann pieces, any idea if there is standard marking(s) to look for that may indicate manufacturer?

Stories like this are very common, but we need to go with verifiable facts. This particular watch has no connection to Breitling. Most likely, somebody acquired a Breitling instruction manual at some point, and saved it with this watch because of the connection between the two brands.

Good point, as stated I could find no other association other than an instruction manual. I definitely agree about stories, I just wanted to relate all details because when it comes to vintage I'm incredibly ignorant and so what is wholly unimportant isn't so intuitive.
