    Help w/ Curved Movado Tank

Hi all. I just went through some boxes I purchased from an estate sale a few yrs back and came across a small leather case full of vintage watches. This Movado is one of them. Can't find much info on this one. Any ideas? Thanks

The fact that the case says Movado USA probably means this was a "cased and timed in the USA" watch. These watches were imported as movements in order to lower their duties. Longines did this via Wittnaur. A number of other Swiss brands did it. (The US had a very active case industry that was world class so no quality was lost.)

Hopefully others will know more but I believe this was more a phenomena of the 40's and 50's than other eras. Based on the style, I would place this in the 40's.

A full movement pic would help too.
"Forever is composed of nows." - Emily Dickinson

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

Your movement shot shows "510". Movado made a 510 calibre that was 9x12 (20.3mmx27.1mm)

Since the dial doesn't say "Movado" it looks like you have a private label Movado

It would be nice to get a photo of the whole movement
