    Heuer alarm

Does this watch look authentic to those with experienced eyes?

    Thanks!

Sorry if I posted this twice. I thought I posted this morning but can't find it.

bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: AS 1475
The style of the watch doesn't look Heuer-ish at all, and almost any alarm watch with an AS 1475 can be converted into a more "desirable" piece.
The Heuer logo looks a bit too thick too.
AFAIK, there was a Heuer Alarm, but it didn't look anything like this one in terms of dial design. The only specimen that I could find in the internets seems to have "alarm" printed above "Heuer".
Just my thoughts, I'm no Heuer expert.

I couldn't find anything like it when I searched either. Thanks for chiming in.

Looks fake to me. Dial seems awfully off and the movement is also a generic AS movement that has been merely etched with the Heuer name.

Looks like the bridge has Ed Heuer & Cie SA engraved to it. Ed Heuers are not real Heuers, but fakes that bend the corners of brand name regulations, by not claiming to be Heuer, but Ed Heuer. Usually they have Ed Heuer printed to the dial, so it is redialed (badly, as mentioned).

Looks like it was a nice anonymous alarm watch... Once.

I wouldn't be so quick to write of this watch based on your mistaken belief that Ed Heuers are not real Heuers.
Many examples of little known Heuers exist.

Here is my example of a Heuer made for Baume, (or is it a Baume made by Heuer).

    Re: Heuer alarm

The dial is obviously a redial but if it is one to mislead or to try and restore should depend on the movement and case. A closer picture of the movement could give an idea if the markings were added later. Same goes for the inside of the case back. No need for closer pictures of the dial....no further pictures of that dial at all would be a preference.

Ok so that was what I was going to say before I found the auction for this watch that is currently going. A quick look at the other items the seller is trying to pass off as original makes me doubt the watch in every way. The seller has a poorly faked Breitling. I noticed in the picture of the movement you posted that there is this yellow or discoloring by where the makers name is. On the Breitling I see the exact same discoloration. This leads me to believe that this is a result of adding the name to the movement.

    The back....Breitling added badly.....

The seller seems to sell lots of redial and recase watches. There may be a few authentic watches but with the kinds of watches he is selling, I would avoid the seller due to the greater risk of buying a watch that is not original or a down right fake.

The seller is in Uruguay btw.....
