Now here is something you don't see every day.
A 1972 Helbros backward running Goofy watch.
From what I have been able to research,
The most famous innovation by Helbros was the design and manufacture of the 'Backwards Goofy Watch', made to the same specification as the other watches but had a manual movement that went counterclockwise, showing the time backwards. The original cost of the watch was $19.95. It was started production in 1972 and later that year Helbros was bought out by the Bradley watch company. Though it was copied as retrospective tributes by both Lorus and Pedre, 1972 was the only year it was produced with Helbros on the dial.
It still has the original band and buckle. It was given to my sister in law by her dad (he bought it new) many years ago and he told her to keep it around. When I came over one night and picked up a couple watches to fix for my Bro-in-law, I spotted this lying in a box full of misc stuff (Broken hair clips, keys etc). I told her I wanted to borrow it for a while and clean it up a bit. I polished the scratches out of the dial (Luckily the case was near pristine). I told her she can only have it back if she promises to keep it somewhere other than the junk drawer!
