How do I adjust the hands on an English Massey

    Hi,

Can anyone help with how to adjust the hands on an early 19th Century English Massey type pocket watch in a silver full hunter case. It has a full plate gilt keywind fusee movement with gilt dust cover.

    Thanks,

    Hi,
Nice old watch you have, to adjust the hands place your
watch key over the square protruding from centre of hands
    and turn clockwise.

Many thanks, easy when you know how. It is a nice watch however unfortunately missing its second hand, any ideas where I could source a replacement?

Why do I see a second hand in the picture?

Maybe the second-hand dropped off after he took the photos?

Any watch repairer who works on Vintage watches will have
a stock of seconds hands so when you have the watch serviced
    a hand will be fitted.
To order one over the net then exacting sizes would need to be supplied
and be prepared to broach or nip the pipe to suit the arbour.
Selections of pckt watch seconds hands come up on ebay regularly.

The arbour is about 0.28mm and the oppening through the dial about 0.98mm. I have checked various suppliers like H Walsh and Cousins however the second hands all seem to be to long, I need something around 7mm.

To answer the earlier question I nicked the picture off the web following some research, my photo skills are a bit lacking!!.
